Routes Out understands the high risk of harm that's present when sex is sold or exchanged and we work directly with women to respond to that. Our approach is based on the understanding that women are exploited through the selling and exchange of sex through a lack of genuine alternatives and we work to support women to explore and know their options.
We offer support to all women whether they have decided to leave or not and also to women who are considering becoming involved (or re involved) in the sale or exchange of sex.
Day Service
The Routes Out Day Service has a team of 5 staff who provide one to one support both practical and emotional to women involved in selling sex in any format and women who might be considering becoming involved.
What does this support look like? The level of support is led by you, maybe it's a 'one-off' piece of advice or signposting to another service. Or maybe it's longer term one to one support from an allocated worker. Whatever your needs or concerns we want to hear from you.
What if I don't want to stop selling/exchanging sex? That's Ok we still want to hear from you! If you feel that you don't want stop right now then that does NOT mean that we cannot support you to address any issues and concerns you have. Give us a call, let's have a chat and we can talk about how we can work together.
Outreach Service
Our outreach service operates in the red light areas of Glasgow Wednesday to Saturday between 7.30pm - 11.30pm providing condoms, needle exchange services, safety items such as personal alarms and advice and support to women selling sex on street.
